PORTLAND — The Open Door boys basketball team scored a 46-31 win over Valor Christian to open the Valley 10 playoffs Thursday afternoon.

Teammate Mark Michalchuk fought through a pair of defenders to finish off a fastbreak and stretch the lead to 14 points early in the second half.

Valor would get no closer than nine points the rest of the way.

• Open Door held an early lead before falling 49-39 to North Clackamas Christian in Saturday's third-place game, giving the Saints the league's final spot into the 1A state bracket.
