CLACKAMAS — The Centennial High softball team finished off a perfect run at the Hoodview spring break tournament with a 6-0 win over Forest Grove on Tuesday afternoon.

The Eagles set the tone right away with lead-off hitter Ashley Hawkins whipping a shot down the third-base line that hopped along the turf and rolled past the home-run fence for a ground-rule double.

Charlotte Marcum followed first-pitch bunt that she spun to a stop about 10 feet in front of the plate. Marcum hit the bag safely and moved along for second base. The defense caught her there, but the aggressive play opened home plate for Hawkins to score.

Two batters into the game, and the Eagles already had the winning run on the scoreboard.

The Eagles are in Lincoln City wrapping up spring break with a team trip before returning home Friday. Waiting on the other side of the weekend is the team's biggest game of the preseason at home against Tigard at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

The teams come in with matching 7-1 records.
