It couldn't have been much closer between the Barlow and Clackamas girls tennis teams Tuesday afternoon.

The two sides split the contested games 99-99 with six of the day's eight matches going the full three sets. In the end, reigning Mount Hood Conference champion Clackamas clumped together enough key points to escape with a 5-3 dual victory to remain unbeaten in league.

The Cavaliers gained the early upper hand with wins in four of the first five matches to come off the court.

With the daylight disappearing, Clackamas secured the team dual when Sarah Kim and Jacquie Yu scored a three-set win in No. 3 doubles.

Barlow rookie Juliette Bodnar won the first set 7-5 in No. 4 singles before darkness suspended play.
