David Douglas and Barlow traded the lead twice in the seventh inning with the Bruins coming out on top 4-3 at home Friday to emerge as the only unbeaten team in the Mount Hood Conference through the first week of league play.

The Scots put their first runs on the board in the top of the seventh, highlighted by Jermaine Robinson's looper into left field that brought both the tying and go-ahead runs across the plate.

Barlow pitcher Stuart Weber, who went the distance, struck out the next batter to strand two more Scots in scoring position.

The Bruins tied the score in its final at-bats when Tyler Loeb put a bunt in play that brought pinch-runner Kanyan Wallace home unchallenged.

Two batters later, Weber hit a chopper to the left side, and Caden Jensen beat the shortstop's throw to the plate for the winning run.

The teams concluded their two-game early-season set at David Douglas at 5 p.m. Monday.
