Barlow's baseball team simply had to wait for the right moment Tuesday to collect a 2-1 home win over Centennial and secure a spot into the 6A playoffs.

The Bruins found themselves locked into a 1-1 tie with Centennial heading into its final at-bats. They would need only one more swing.

Jimmy Nicholson got a hold of the first pitch and drove a triple over the outfielder's head into the right-field corner.

After an Eagles' meeting on the mound, a pitch in the dirt saw pinch runner Kanyan Wallace sprint home for the winning run.

The win leaves Barlow (15-9) in a third-place tie with Gresham, heading into Friday's league finale at Centennial.
