Here are teams that our area coaches are watching...

Don Carter, Corbett boys coach

Champion: With Killian Tillie back in the rotation and one of the best players in the nation in Rui Hachimura, Gonzaga will be hard to beat. Oh, and they already beat Duke, which is on their side of the bracket.

Cinderella: I have to go with the No. 15-seed Montana — it's hard to pick against my college team. (Carter played center for the Grizzlies, who were Big Sky runners-up in 1997).

Tom Johnson, Barlow boys coach

Champion: My pick is North Carolina because of their talent and athleticism. They also have a lot of diversity on the offensive end.

Cinderella: Nevada had convincing non conference wins against Arizona State and Utah.

Erik Lyslo, Gresham boys coach

Champion: The bracket is top-heavy this year, meaning a don't think you're going to see a bunch of upsets in the later rounds. Shooting and guard play tend to win the tournament, and I think that makes North Carolina the toughest out.

Cinderella: Belmont is really talented and can shoot the ball, but the first days of the tourney are wide open. I think Murray State, Liberty and Yale are other interesting underdogs.

Jason Maki, Sandy boys coach

Champion: Gonzaga. It's time. Their injuries during the season actually have helped ascribe depth to the lineup.

Cinderella: Belmont. The Bulldogs move the ball and they can really shoot it.

David Ball, Sports Editor

Champion: An international flair makes Gonzaga a fun team to watch, and balanced scoring and something to prove makes the Bulldogs my title pick.

Cinderella: No. 14-seed Georgia State has five players scoring in double figures and meets a Houston squad that is one cold shooting night from being done.
