Reynolds wins big on football Friday and Raiders score late for a boys soccer win

PMG PHOTO: DAVID BALL - Reynolds QB Dominique Miller turns upfield for a big gain during the third quarter of the Raiders 64-0 home win over Franklin on Friday.

REYNOLDS 64, FRANKLIN 0 — The Raiders found the end zone five times in the first quarter and spent the entire second half with a running clock.

Franklin received the second-half kickoff and were forced into a three-and-out when Reynolds linebacker Keedin Branch broke into the backfield and dropped the Lightning ball carrier for a loss.

Reynolds took possession and quickly tacked seven more points onto the scoreboard when Reggie Akles took a pitch-out and turned upfield. He took on three Franklin tacklers at the goal line and continued into the end zone standing up for the touchdown.

Miles Wilson gained 122 yards rushing with six of his seven carries going for 10 yards or more.

REYNOLDS 4, WESTVIEW 3 — The Raiders netted the winning goal with two minutes to play when Angel Orozco drew a foul in the box, and teammate Rogelio Uribe converted the ensuing penalty kick for his second goal of the night. Teammates Alan Gaytan and Gerardo Mejia also scored for the Raiders.

CENTENNIAL 1, FOREST GROVE 0 — Jair Diaz Navarro converted a penalty kick in the 34th minute, which proved to be the only scoring of the night. Centennial sophomore goalie Dennis Besserab made a pair of saves in the final five minutes to secure the victory.

"Both teams had many opportunities but in the our our backline bent, but did not break," Centennial coach Todd Saks said.
