Football league leaders, Barlow hosts hoops camp and women's football team holds tryouts

Jermaine Robinson tops league scoring list

David Douglas wide receiver Jermaine Robinson finished the 2019 football season at the Mount Hood Conference's leading scorer with 84 points on 16 touchdown catches. He averaged 17.2 yards per catch.

Sandy QB Chet Chamberlain won the season's rushing title with 810 yards and 10 touchdowns, while Central Catholic's Silas Starr led all receivers with 883 yards.

Barlow sophomore Abi Hoffman was the league's top kicker, going 4-for-4 on field goals and finishing the regular season with 42 points. Reynolds kicked Harith Al Obaide was the most accurate kicker on extra points, converting 38 of 39 (97.4%) of his chances.

Defensively, David Douglas' Trevon Shepherd led the league with six takeaways, picking off four passes and recovering a pair of fumbles. Sandy's Gabe Wontowski led the league with 13.5 sacks, getting to the quarterback almost twice as often as any other player.

Barlow boys host basketball camp

The Barlow High boys basketball program hosts a Veteran's Day camp from 9:30-11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at the high school's main gym. Cost is $10 at the door.

Women's football team holds tryouts

The Portland Fighting Shockwave of the Women's Football Alliance is holding its first player combine for the 2020 season at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Wilson High School. Players should arrive 15 minutes early to register with a cost of $25.

The Shockwave is coming off a 7-1 season.
