Solano twins power Vikings to win at Oregon State meet, Eubanks starts up season in G-League

PSU ATHLETICS: LARRY LAWSON - Reynolds High graduate Erik Solano finished seventh at last weekend's race in Corvallis — a final tuneup leading into the Big Sky Conference championships.

• Solano filled Portland State's No. 3 spot and placed seventh overall at the Beaver Classic on Saturday, covering the 8K course in 26:35.72. His brother Andy Solano gave the Vikings four runners in the top-10, hitting the finish line in 26:44.41. Portland State won the meet with 37 points.

• Turner, the Wolves starting right tackle, paved the way for 16 rushing first downs and 349 yards on the ground in Western's 23-21 win over Azusa Pacific on Saturday. The Wolves (7-3) earned a share of the Greater Northwest Conference title for the first time in school history.

• Qualls came up with three saves and shutout Central Washington over the final 88 minutes of play during Western's 3-1 win Saturday. The Wolves finished league play with a 7-3-2 record heading into this week's league playoffs.
