REYNOLDS BOYS END SKID — The Reynolds boys basketball team stopped a seven-game losing streak by completing their nonleague schedule with a 63-58 win at Hood River on Friday night.

Brandon Buffington led the way with 17 points, while rookie guard Scotty Riddle added 16 points, going 3-for-3 at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

Keenan Coleman knocked down a 3-pointer to make it a two-possession game in the final minute. Hood River had a chance for force overtime, but a trio of 3-point tries missed the target down the stretch.

GRESHAM GIRLS BEAT HOOD RIVER — The Gresham girls basketball team scored a 49-42 win over Hood River on the Friday before Christmas. The Gophers held Hood River without a field goal in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Eagles 22-3 down the stretch.

Toni Gould sank a pair of 3-pointers to spark the fourth-quarter comeback, and would end the game with a team-high 14 points. Aliyah Duran and Heaven Schab added eight points apiece.

The Gophers compiled a 1-2 record at the post-holiday Fort Vancouver tournament.

CENTENNIAL SOFTBALL CLINICS — The Centennial High softball program is hosting a series of winter sessions on 5 p.m. Sundays, running Jan. 12 through Feb. 23, in the west gym at Centennial High. Cost is $40.
