Leonard Dixon makes all-region team
Mt. Hood Community College sophomore Leonard Dixon, a Barlow High graduate, was named to the all-South Region men's basketball team in the Northwest Athletic Conference of Community Colleges. He started all 29 games for the Saints and averaged a team-high 19.3 points per game. Dixon was top-10 in the Northwest for 3-pointer percentage (43.6%).
Mt. Hood forwards Emily Webber and Rose Gwillim were named to the South Region women's second team. Webber, a sophomore, was the team's leading scorer at 12.6 points per game, while rookie Gwillim ranked among the top-10 in the Northwest in rebounds at 10.1 per game
Barlow's Janessa Teachout wins seven events
Barlow High's Janessa Teachout won judged events in Hunt Seat Equitation with 102 points, Hand Trail (83), Trail Equitation (72), Driving (93) and Showmanship (87) at a league meet held March 6, in West Linn. She also joined Hayley Chilton, Mia Salerno and Madeline Bailey to win in Team Versatility (35) and paired up with Salerno for first-place point in Team Sorting with 14 cows in 1:52.39.
Savannah Greeley caught two steers with a total time of 4.523 seconds to win the Steer Daubing event. Bailey was second in Hand Trail and in Showmanship, while Salerno was second in Barrels. Leah Fleming, Greeley, Chilton and Salerno won the Freestyle Fours competition.
Corbett's Azy Baeckel won in Reining (70) and was second in Trail Equitation and Working Rancher.
Centennial's Maeve O'Brien was second in Dressage.
Sandy won the large-school team competition with 679 points — 32 ahead of runner-up Estacada.
