Mason Bratcher, Maggie Gilmour notch strong finishes for the Bruins while competing as individuals

COURTESY PHOTO: BRATCHER FAMILY - Barlow senior Mason Bratcher finished +9 in the State Golf Championships.  In the boys tournament, senior Mason Bratcher capped a strong season with a final score of 151 and a 29th-place finish Monday and Tuesday, 16-17, at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis. Meanwhile fellow Bruin sophomore Maggie Gilmour had a final score of 203 and a 63rd-place finish in the girls tournament held concurrently at the Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell.

Bratcher notched a 75 (+4) and a 76 (+5) in his two rounds. His best showings were on the longest holes — averaging a 4.67 score on Par 5 holes, a rate that was tied for 10th best in the tournament. He collected 18 pars and 5 birdies during the tournament.

Gilmour finished with a 103 (+31) and a 100 (+28). She had 6 pars during the tournament and did the best on Par 3 holes with a 4.25 average.
