Multnomah County, Reynolds ace joins North All Star baseball squad
One of the top pitchers in East Multnomah County and Reynold High's senior ace took his talents to an All-Star series
Steve Kovac pitched in game one. He also played left outfield in the series' second for the North in the Oregon High School Baseball All-Star Series, which showcases the top senior players from 5A and 6A teams.
The series was split between the two sides — with Kovac and the North routing the South 10-2 in the finale, while game one went the other way 8-3.
In game two the North offense came alive, with 13 hits led by right-handed Portland Interscholastic League Player of the Year Alex Nisbet, of Cleveland, who went 2-3 with a double, three runs scored and 3 RBIS.
The game served as a capper to a great senior season for Kovac, who earned first-team all-league for the Mt. Hood Conference.
