Summer in Oregon
It's summer, and it's a perfect time to see all that our area has to offer. We are fortunate to live an hour from the beach, and hour and a half from the mountains and three hours from the desert. Last month you learned how to prepare for a trip and this month let's talk about where to go.
The beach is close, accessible and inexpensive. It is about 60 miles to Tillamook, the gateway to beaches and ice cream. A cone at the creamery and a day at Cape Lookout is something that other folks can only dream about. You can do this for under $10 a person.
Mt. Hood sits in the middle of 1 million acres of national forest and has hikes, climbing and campgrounds. Drive the Mt. Hood Scenic Loop which passes historical sites, agricultural land and charming communities. You can do it in a day, and it is worth it.
Oregon's High Desert runs from the John Day River to the Owyhee Canyonlands and is just as scenic in its own way. Hike along all or part of the Oregon Desert Trail, climb at Smith Rock or golf at Sun River. You can reach these places in about 3 hours, and it is always sunny and warm in the Summer.
At Scotties Auto Body, we encourage you to get out and see Oregon's beautiful natural wonders. If you have a fender bender or car trouble we are here to help.
