Places to Go, Things to Do
Scotties has given you advice on how to get ready to travel and places to go, now let's talk about things to do locally.
The Washington County Fair in Hillsboro will open on Friday, July 23. The Fair still has free admission, carnival rides and music performances. You can still see the livestock and eat fair food like elephant ears and corndogs. Don't miss the All Alaskan Racing Pigs or the K-9 Kings Flying Dog Show this year. The Fair is classic Americana and suitable for the whole family.
The Tuesday Night Market in Hillsboro has live music, a car show and food vendors to please every palate. There are craft vendors selling jewelry, spirits, candles and so much more. It's a free and fun night out for the whole family Tuesdays from 5-8 p.m. in Downtown Hillsboro at the Civic Center Plaza.
Your library is hosting musical performances, make and takes and storytimes this summer. Visit your local library website or the events section of the Washington County Cooperative Library Services at wccls.org for information.
The cities of Hillsboro, Sherwood and McMinnville are presenting summer concerts in local parks that are free and fun for all. Local school districts are hosting free programs and activities at local parks. Many of these provide lunch for kids. Check your district's and city's websites to find out more.
Scotties Auto Body is here to help with any bumps or mechanical trouble as you get out and enjoy the season.
