Oregon has many things that make it unique among the other states. Our agriculture is one of the things that sets us apart from other states. Only California produces more types of products than we do. Just look around; we have berries, wheat, sheep, potatoes, dairy and much more. Oregon has it all, and the very best place to see the cream of our crops is the Oregon State Fair.
Less than 50 miles from Hillsboro, the Fair is held at the State fairgrounds in Salem. This year tickets are just $5 for adults and children when you buy in advance on the fair website at oregonstatefair.org. Masks are required inside public buildings.
See the livestock housed in their respective buildings and we mean everything from bunnies to llamas. Draft horses will perform nightly beginning on Aug. 31 and Dog Town is a continuous, all-day showcase of dogs performing unbelievable feats.
Boomers will enjoy Chicago, Country fans will love Jon Pardi, rockers will dance to Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo and Rap fans will relish Flo Rida. Five more concerts are scheduled, check the website for tickets and showtimes.
The carnival has 25 major rides and 20 kiddie rides. The Artisan Village offers jewelry, art, herbs and more. Strolling performers, corndogs, cotton candy and a roof top bar await you at Oregon's annual summer party.
Scotties Auto Body is here for you if you need help getting your car fit for the Fair.
