It's that time of year! Cool weather, colorful leaves and Halloween. Kids love getting dressed up and going outside and walking around in the dark. They especially love getting candy. Now, however, Halloween has some safety concerns for parents. But Halloween fun is still to be had. The following events may not be at night but there will be dressing up and candy will be involved. These events are safe for kids, fun and are free.
Spooktacular Downtown has been a downtown Hillsboro tradition for over 30 years. This year, celebrations and festivities will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 30th during the Hillsboro Farmers' Market. Fall and Halloween themed activities and entertainment including a costume contest and goodie bags for trick-or-treaters are on offer at the Civic Center Plaza.
Wear a costume, bring a goody bag for treats and pick up a map of participating businesses during the Spooktacular Halloween at Orenco Station. The fun begins at 1:30 p.m. on the street level at 1322 N.E. Orenco Station Parkway and continuesÂ until 4 p.m.
Trick or Treat at The Streets offers mask decorating, judging, giveaways and trick or treating from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Streets of Tanasbourne.
The Forest Grove City Club is holding their Trick or Treat the Merchants from 12-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 in downtown. You must register online at cityclubfg.com/trick-or-treat and schedule your visit to guarantee your spot.
