In 1983, the President's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition designated May to be National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. Whew, what a mouthful! What is the President's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, what do they want and what does this mean?

Officially, the PCSFN (see above, it's long) is a federal advisory committee that aims to promote healthy eating and physical activity for all Americans, regardless of background or ability. The council wants Americans to have healthy lifestyles and improve our quality of life. (Well, duh! We also want our quality of life improved! Especially now, after our quality of life was drastically impacted by the whole COVID-19 pandemic.) This means that May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, and May 7 is US National Fitness Day.

Now you know about it, what should you do? Eat right and get fit, therefore improving your quality of life.

The Gym offers nutrition counseling and diet coaching for the eating right part of your fitness journey and Nate and his crew at The Gym are ready, willing and able to help you get you fit. The Gym offers classes taught by expert, enthusiastic people. Trainers are available to help you with a fitness plan and teach you how to utilize the Gym's new equipment. The Gym has a fabulous outdoor program in the summer called The Gym Outdoors which is fun and hey, it's outside.
