NEWS-TIMES FILE IMAGE - Cornelius PlaceRep. Susan McLain, D-Forest Grove, has been instrumental in securing $500,000 in state lottery funds during the Oregon Legislature’s short session for Cornelius Place.

McLain announced today the state House and Senate both voted in favor of using Oregon State Lottery Funds to provide additional funding for the project.

Cornelius Place will be a multi-use facility in Cornelius, including a new, larger city library, community gathering spaces, and affordable housing for seniors.

“This is not just a fabulous library and literacy center. It’s not just an affordable housing project for seniors.” McLain says. “It is also a game changer for downtown Cornelius, which has to compete with a lot of larger cities around them.”
