High school students asked to weigh in on state issues at forum
Hillsboro's two state representatives are holding a town hall for Washington County students later this month.
Rep. Janeen Sollman and Rep. Susan McLain, both democrats, are partnering with the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce, City of Hillsboro's Youth Advisory Council and Portland Community College to host the inaugural Students Speak Forum.
The event is an opportunity for high school students in Hillsboro, Forest Grove and Banks to voice their opinions on current events, the pair said in a joint statement, as well as offer solutions to state issues that they experience on a daily basis.
The forum will take place Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Great Room at Portland Community College's Willow Creek campus, 241 S.W. Edgeway Drive, in Hillsboro.
