The town hall is scheduled to start at noon Sunday, Feb. 4, at Century High School, 2000 S.E. Century Blvd.

An Oregon Democrat who has held office since 1996, Wyden had scheduled his Washington County town hall for last month, but canceled those plans amid talks of the government shutdown, which lasted three days.

During Wyden's last visit to Hillsboro, in May, the senator told a packed crowd at Liberty High School that he believed a Republican tax overhaul would bring "a tsunami of suffering" to Oregon residents, and pledged to work to end the legislation, which Republicans passed into law last month.

On Tuesday, Wyden planned ot attend President Donald Trump's State of the Union address with 26-year-old Esli Becerra, an undocumented immigrant and one of thousands of Oregon "Dreamers" who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children.

The Trump administration has directed the deportation of thousands of undocumented immigrants after his administration rescinded the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which offered temporary legal status to children brought to the U.S. without proper documentation.

Wyden has pledged to hold at least one town hall in every Oregon county each year, but Wyden has held several town halls in the Portland area since the President Donald Trump took office, holding 80 town halls last year across the state, including seven in Washington County.
