Man arrested in Hillsboro bank robbery

Hillsboro Police have arrested a man after he allegedly robbed a bank at knife point on Monday morning.
Diego A. Sanchez-Lopez, 23, is charged with first-degree robbery and unlawful use of weapon. He also had an unrelated misdemeanor warrant at the time of his arrest.
According to Hillsboro Police Sgt. Eric Bunday, Sanchez-Lopez entered Wells Fargo bank, 7200 N.E. Butler St., at about 10:26 a.m., Monday, April 30, brandishing a knife. The armed man reportedly stole several thousand dollars from bank tellers then ran off.
According to Bunday, after Sanchez-Lopez left the bank, two customers who saw the robbery attempted to stop the man. They chased after him and flagged down nearby officers near Century Boulevard and Butler Street. Officers quickly arrested the man a few minutes later.
Sanchez-Lopez was booked in the the Washington County Jail on Monday afternoon.
