COURTESY KOIN 6 NEWS - Blazer was a 16-year-old family pet, according to owner Kathryn Lyons. The Washington County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help after a Washington County man found a decapitated and dismembered cat in his front yard on Sunday afternoon, prompting an animal cruelty investigation.

Deputies were able to rule out another animal as the cause of the death. They believe the act was intentional and they're looking for more information.

The cat was found in the 2900 block of Northwest 178th Avenue of Rock Creek, north of Hillsboro, just before 1 p.m., May 27.

There is currently no suspect.
