92-acre data center planned for Brookwood Parkway
A Kansas data hosting company plans to break ground on a large 90-acre data center soon, the company says.
QTS Data Centers, which last year purchased 92 acres of land at 4829 N.E. Brookwood Parkway, near TopGolf driving range, for $26 million, plans to break ground this year on a large 100-megawatt data center.
"Hillsboro is attracting technology companies and rapidly becoming one of the largest hyperscale data center markets on the west coast due to multiple factors, including affordable power, robust connectivity, and local and state tax incentives," the company wrote on its website.
The property lies in Hillsboro's "enterprise zone" which exempts the company from property taxes.
QTS Data Centers leases space within its server farms to other companies.
