New Washington County CFO appointed
A member of Portland's Bureau of Revenue and Financial Services has been named the new head of Washington County's finance department.
Jack Liang will take over as Washington County's new chief finance officer next month, the county announced Wednesday, June 27.
Liang takes the position July 9, replacing former finance head Mary Gruss, who retired this year after nearly three decades managing finances for Washington County and various local cities. She is the former finance director for the city of Hillsboro.
Washington County's Finance Division manages the county's accounting and financial systems and oversees the county's $1.2 billion budget.
Liang, a certified public accountant and chartered global management accountant, has a degree in business administration from Portland State University.
Liang was an assistant controlled with the city of Portland's Bureau of Revenue, and previously spent time in several other accounting and finance-related positions in the Portland metro area.
