Big Bounce America, which came to Hillsboro last summer on its inaugural tour across the country, will be back in Western Washington County on Aug. 25 for two weekends of bouncy fun.

The bounce house, which holds the title from Guinness World Records as the world's largest, measures 10,000 square feet, and features inflatable basketball hoops, slides, a DJ booth, and more.

This is not your average bounce house, organizers say.

Previously held at Shute Park, this year's event has moved to AmberGlen Park, 1577 N.W. Compton Drive, near Tanasbourne.

Big Bounce America runs Aug. 25 and 26, then returns to the park Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and Sept. 2.

This year, the bounce house will be even larger, with a Bounce Village around the main jumping space. The additional bounce structures include an inflatable obstacle course, a giant ball pit and slide, adding an additional 10,000 square feet of bouncy fun to the already impressive spectacle.

Inspiration for Big Bounce America came while organizers were planning a music festival in Europe a few years ago.

"We were producing an event as part of a big musical festival and the organizers had created a small family section, which included a fairly standard bounce house," recalls Grahame Ferguson, co-founder of The Big Bounce America. "When the kids weren't using it, and nobody was looking, we snuck on and bounced around like were kids again. Then it dawned on us … What if we made a much bigger bounce house? What if we built the biggest one in the world? What if adults could bounce? What it had a DJ booth, ball pits, foam pits, slides, and more?"

The bounce house is four times larger than an average home and 40 times larger than a traditional bounce house.

"Everybody loves a bounce," Ferguson told Pamplin Media Group last year. "Nobody ever went on a bounce house as a kid and thought 'Nah, that's not for me.' That love is never going to leave you. It translates to kids, adults, all of it … We originally envisioned this as an adults-only thing, but you can't do something that much fun and not allow kids in."

Tickets are sold per session and vary from $12 to $23 depending on age.
