The crash closed the Highway 26 on-ramp at Brookwood Parkway for hours as police investigated.

A motorcyclist was killed Monday morning after crashing near the Highway 26 on-ramp near Brookwood Parkway.

According to Hillsboro police, a Honda CR-V was turning from southbound Brookwood Parkway left onto eastbound Highway 26 at about 8:18 a.m., Monday, Aug. 13, when the vehicle crashed into a motorcycle heading north along Brookwood Parkway.

Police said the motorcyclist likely had a green light at the time of the crash, and the driver of the Honda CR-V was turning on a flashing yellow light.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither the motorcyclist nor the driver of the other vehicle had been identified.

The crash shut down the road for hours as investigators worked the area.

The driver of the SUV, who police described as a 62-year-old woman, was not injured in the crash. She remained at the scene and has cooperated with police, according to Hillsboro Police spokesman Lt. Henry Reimann.

The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team will continuing the investigation, Reimann said. No arrests have been made in the case. Reimann said any charges would be brought by the Washington County District Attorney's Office.

Anyone with any information or may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact the Hillsboro Police Department: 503-681-6175.
