Clark Hill Road to close for bridge replacement
Southwest Clark Hill Road will close south of Tile Flat Road for bridge work starting next Friday, Sept. 7.
The Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation said it is closing the road so that crews can replace an aging bridge just south of where Clark Hill and Tile Flat roads intersect in the Farmington area.
The county said the "decaying" wooden bridge will be replaced by a single-span concrete bridge with guardrails.
Clark Hill Road is expected to re-open Oct. 12.
During the monthlong closure, a detour route will be established through the area. With Clark Hill Road closed south of Tile Flat Road, traffic will be detoured along River Road, Farmington Road and the segment of Clark Hill Road north of Tile Flat Road, the county said.
