Former teacher arrested on child pornography charges
Deputies have arrested a Hillsboro man and former Beaverton School District teacher on child pornography charges after evidence of explicit videos and photos involving children were allegedly found on his computer.
Geoffrey Germano, 40, was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 10, and charged with seven counts of first degree encouraging child sex abuse.
Detectives with the Washington County Sheriff's Office began investigating Germano in April, and have accused Germano of downloading multiple photos and videos depicting child pornography.
Germano was a teacher at Aloha High School, detectives said, but is not currently employed there. According to Germano's social media accounts, Germano worked in the school district for 13 years. The Sheriff's Office said the charges are unrelated to his work as a teacher.
In May, Investigators searched Germano's home near Francis Street Park in Hillsboro, where they reportedly found evidence that he had downloaded and possessed sexually explicit images and videos of children.
Germano was lodged in the Washington County Jail. His bail is set at $140,000.
