Ribbon-cutting scheduled for new Wells Fargo call center
Hundreds of new jobs are coming to North Hillsboro, according to the banker Wells Fargo.
Wells Fargo is opening a Sunset Park call center at 23145 N.E. Bennett St. in Hillsboro, south of Highway 26. The facility is 103,000 square feet in size and could have up to 800 employees working there, Wells Fargo stated in a news release.
For now, Wells Fargo said, the financial company is hiring more than 100 people to work as phone bankers at the call center, with a career fair scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 17, and Sunday, Nov. 18. Next year, Wells Fargo anticipates hiring 300 more people at the Sunset Park location.
Most of the employees at the Sunset Park call center will provide customer service for Wells Fargo's consumer banking division.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony with representatives from Wells Fargo, the City of Hillsboro and the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce is set for noon Thursday, Nov. 1. The public is invited to attend.
Wells Fargo will also provide tours of the new facility on Thursday.
