Opponent Alexander Flores takes 41 percent of vote based on early returns Tuesday night.

RileyIncumbent Chuck Riley appears to have won the race to represent Hillsboro and Forest Grove area in the Oregon Senate.

Based on unofficial election results released Tuesday, Nov. 6, Riley was leading the race with more than 59 percent of the vote. Alexander Flores had 41 percent.

The pair are running against one another to represent Senate District 15, which includes Hillsboro, Forest Grove, Cornelius and North Plains.

Riley is a senior statesman in Salem, serving as the Senate's assistant majority leader. He served in the Oregon House for six years from 2005 to 2011, before winning a close race for the Oregon Senate four years ago.

Flores, a Republican, is the former chairman of board at Centro Cultural de Washington County. He previously served as chairman of the Cultural Coalition of Washington County. Flores led an unsuccessful run for the Hillsboro School Board last year.
