Open House planned for Scotch Church Road bridge replacement
The public is invited to an open house next week to discuss the replacement of a bridge on Scotch Church Road, ahead of major reconstruction later this year.
Crews will replace the bridge over McKay Creek, between Glencoe and Jackson School roads. Construction for the $4.26 million replacement is set to begin sometime this year. According to county officials, the old timber bridge is "structurally deficient" and in need of replacement. The new bridge will be made of concrete and is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
On Thursday, Feb. 7, Washington County's Department of Land Use and Transportation will host an open house at Evergreen Middle School, 456 N.W. Evergreen Road. The open house will run from 5 to 7 p.m.
The project is funded by Washington County's major street transportation improvement program, or MSTIP.
