Hillsboro motorcyclist dies in crash with Beaverton man
A Hillsboro resident has died after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle operated by a Beaverton man, authorities say.
Oregon State Police troopers responded to Highway 214 near Union School Road Northeast after reports of a two-vehicle crash came in around 4:46 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, according to a news release.
Investigators determined that Travis Corter, 50, of Hillsboro, was traveling eastbound on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when he entered the westbound lane in order to pass a car. Corter collided with a westbound Chevrolet Volt and died of his injuries.
The driver of the Volt was identified as 64-year-old Beaverton resident Massoud Jourabchi. Police said three of the five people in the Volt were taken to Salem Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The Mt. Angel Fire Department, Woodburn Fire Department, Woodburn Ambulance and the Oregon Department of Transportation also assisted in the incident.
