PMG PHOTO: CHRISTOPHER OERTELL - First responders on the scene of a fatal crash between two pick up trucks on Highway 8 at Northwest 334th Avenue between Hillsboro and Cornelius on Thursday, Nov. 11.An 82-year-old man died in a traffic collision on Tualatin Valley Highway, also signed as Highway 8, at Northwest 334th Avenue west of Hillsboro, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Sgt. Danny DiPietro said a Ford F-350 was traveling westbound on Highway 8, toward Cornelius, and a Ford F-150 was making a turn onto the highway from Northwest 334th Avenue when the crash occurred at about 2:10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7.

"It was pretty much a T-bone style crash," DiPietro said.

The driver of the F-150, who was identified as Delbert Dewolf, 82, of Hillsboro, was killed in the crash.

Three people in the F-350 — the driver and her two passengers — were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The Sheriff's Office said its initial investigation indicates that Dewolf stopped at a stop sign before driving onto the highway, into the path of the oncoming F-350.

Highway 8 westbound was closed for several hours during the crash investigation. It has since reopened.
