Multiple street closures were in effect for hours as crews worked in the area.

COURTESY OF HILLSBORO FIRE & RESCUE - First responders on the scene of a fatal crash at South 1st Avenue and Southeast Baseline Street in Hillsboro on Monday, Nov. 25.A fatal crash left one person dead at the intersection of South 1st Avenue and Southeast Baseline Street in Hillsboro on Monday morning.

"A dump truck traveling northbound on South 1st Avenue collided with a passenger car traveling westbound on Southeast Baseline Street," read a statement from Hillsboro Police Department.

Marilynn A. Wolfe, 75, of Cornelius was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. She was the passenger in a 1990 Honda Accord driven by her brother, Michael W. Maruk, 62, of Cornelius.

Michael W. Maruk was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The dump truck was driven by Patricia M. Deangelis, 46, of Tigard. She was not injured.

Police closed roads in the area for several hours as fire and medical personnel responded to the incident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team.
