Update: One man has died and a woman remains hospitalized with serious injuries after a fatal crash Wednesday evening, Feb. 5 west of Beaverton.

The crash shut down Southwest Scholls Ferry Road, also signed as Highway 210, in between Southwest Roy Rogers and Clark Hill roads.

As of 8:45 p.m., Scholls Ferry Road remained closed.

Deputy Brian van Kleef, spokesperson for the Washington County Sheriff's Office, said two vehicles — a car and an SUV — collided at about 5:19 p.m. Wednesday.

"It appears the man lost control of his car while trying to go through the curve and crashed into the other vehicle," van Kleef noted.

The names of the two drivers involved have not yet been released.

No other vehicles were involved, according to the Sheriff's Office, and neither driver had a passenger in their vehicles.

The victims have not yet been identified.

Scholls Ferry Road is expected to re-open later Wednesday evening. Van Kleef said a crash reconstruction team is on-scene as of 6 p.m.

Editor's note: This story has been updated with more details from the Washington County Sheriff's Office, including to note that there were no other individuals or vehicles involved in the crash.
