Closure of segment of Jackson School Road to begin July 13
Construction planned along Northeast Jackson School Road in Hillsboro will close a segment of the road to traffic from July 13 through mid-August.
The closure will be between Northeast Grant Street and Northeast Harewood Street as crews replace a culvert near Hamby Park, according to officials with Hillsboro's Public Works Department on Monday, July 6.
A detour for through traffic will be set up along Northeast Harewood Street to Northwest Glencoe Road to Northeast Grant Street.
During the closure, local access to homes will be maintained, officials said, and residents may experience noise during business hours. Construction equipment and trucks will be temporarily located around the culvert replacement site by Hamby Park, which will remain partially closed.
Construction on the project to widen the road began in March. The project will require two additional future closures of segments of Jackson School Road, officials said.
When it's untimately finish in late 2022, the project will bring curbs, sidewalks, raised bike lanes, and continuous center turn lane to the two-lane road, as well as underground utilities and street lighting, officials said.
