A new Providence Heath & Services medical center is set to open in South Hillsboro later this year.
Construction on the 118,000-square-foot healthcare facility at Reed's Crossing has been ongoing and now the organization is preparing for opening by the end of the summer. The new location will offer primary and urgent care, with clinics opening on the week of Aug. 8.
"Providence Health Center — Reed's Crossing will provide urgent care services while also focusing on integrated wellness and disease prevention," said Jamie Reese, a spokeswoman for Providence Health. "Along with primary and specialty care, mental health care, nutrition services, and a fitness center on site will give patients a unique and connected care plan to help them create and maintain a healthy life."
South Hillsboro is the fastest-growing part of town, and this commercial development acts a compliment to large residential neighborhoods being built in the area.
The location will also have a fitness center and Providence says the location will be a one-stop shop for health services, providing mental health specialists, nutritionists, and physical therapy.
The 45,000-square-foot fitness center is two floors and will feature indoor and outdoor pools, fitness studios and lifestyle programs.
Reed's Crossing is the name of a larger residential development in South Hillsboro by developer Newland. Developers have described it as the largest mixed-use planned community in Oregon's history. It's designed to connect residents with all the services and convenience they need all in the southern community.
Now, developers are rushing to build up the commercial buildings and services around this new community. The new Providence center will be located at 7305 S.E. Circuit Dr.
Mortenson Development was awarded the contract to build the medical office building in 2020, and the estimated completion of the project is listed as May 2022 on the developer's website. Seavest Investment Group is financing the project.
Reed's Crossing Town Center is a newer development that also includes a proposed grocery, retail and services center in the larger Reed's Crossing master planned community. This is separate from the Hillsboro Town Center shopping mall on Tualatin Valley Highway.
Next door to the new Providence health center is a planned retirement community called The Ackerly, which is scheduled to open in early 2023, according to the development website. It will feature independent living apartments, assisted living units and memory care apartments with resort-style amenities.
Editor's Note: This story has been updated to clarify the new Providence development is a health center not a hospital.
