The Washington County Sheriff's Office said it responded to the crash near Chehalem Ridge Nature Park early Sunday.

COURTESY PHOTO: WCSO - Deputies responded to a fatal crash in rural Washington County on early Sunday morning, Sept. 18.A man was found dead early Sunday morning, Sept. 18, after apparently crashing his all-terrain vehicle (ATV) near Chehalem Ridge Nature Park in Washington County, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Washington County sheriff's deputies responded to the reported crash at about 2:36 a.m. Sunday, authorities said. They found Matthew Brown, a 46-year-old Cornelius resident, dead at the scene.

Brown was the only person on the ATV when it crashed, investigators concluded. More details on the crash were not immediately released.

The investigation was conducted by the Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team.
