Hillsboro police have identified the man shot over the weekend as Erick Alcantar Vega, 32, of Hillsboro.

The Hillsboro Police Department has identified the man shot on Southeast 10th Avenue over the weekend, according to a press release from the agency.

Police say the shooting victim is 32-year-old Erick Alcantar Vega, a Hillsboro resident. The investigation into his death is ongoing, the agency notes.

Police responded to a shooting in the area of Southeast 10th Avenue and Walnut Street in the early morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 12. They found a single male victim, now identified as Vega, with a gunshot wound.

Officers gave him medical attention, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.
