Applying for grants funding is a key part of every arts and culture organization, but it can also feel like an overwhelming task, but those looking for answers to their questions regarding nonprofit and arts organization funding may be in luck.

The Washington County Arts & Culture Grants Panel, a free event hosted by the Hillsboro Arts & Culture Council, will meet Jan. 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Walters Cultural Arts Center, 527 E. Main St. in Hillsboro.

Panelists include representatives from the Hillsboro Arts & Culture Council, Oregon Community Foundation, the Oregon Cultural Trust and the Regional Arts & Culture Council.

The discussion is designed to help nonprofit representatives determine which grant opportunities best fit specific organizations.

There will also be opportunities to talk with those providing the grants.

The event is free, but reservations are requested. Reserve a spot by calling 503-615-3431 or emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Then on Feb. 6, join experienced and knowledgeable grants expert Gigi Rosenberg for her workshop titled “Grant Writing for Success for Individual Artists and Arts Organizations,” and learn to form persuasive grant proposals.

Author of “The Artist’s Guide to Grant Writing,” Rosenberg will teach proven techniques to attract potential funders to organizations or projects.

The forum will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Walters Cultural Arts Center.

Securing funding is becoming more competitive by the day with so many nonprofits vying for limited funds, so the workshop will cover everything from brainstorming techniques to editing your final draft.

To register, call 503-615-3485.

The registration fee is $25.
