The first Festival de Mariachi will be held at Ron Tonkin Field in Hillsboro on Sunday, Sept. 25.
The family-friendly event celebrates diversity and inclusivity through a night of food, music, dance and other performances.
The event will feature local mariachi acts, like Mariachi Portland, Mariachi México En La Piel and high school bands from Hillsboro, Forest Grove and Glencoe high schools.
In addition to live music, the night will also feature a DJ set of Latin music courtesy of DJ Marki Markz. Tornillo the Magic Clown will also be on hand to entertain festival-goers.
Food options include tacos, roasted corn, stuffed caramel, churros and beverages.
The event is sponsored by Unitus Credit Union. It is free and open from noon to 6 p.m.
