Kim Thatcher takes commanding lead to reclaim Senate seat
Oregon state Senator Kim Thatcher has easily reclaimed her seat in the Legislature, based on early elected results released Tuesday night.
Thatcher, who lives in Keizer, represents Senate District 13, a wideranging district that stretches from the Salem area north to parts of Hillsboro and Forest Grove.
Unofficial results show Thatcher, a Republican, with a commanding 56 percent of Tuesday night's election result. Opponent Sarah Grider had 44 percent.
Thatcher served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2005 to 2015, and won her first term in the Oregon Senate four years ago.
Grider, a Democrat, entered the race late, replacing former candidate Paul Diller after he dropped out of the race following the May primary.
