The sticks and bricks of buying a home
Buying a home is a process that requires many people from many different fields working together to help buyers make the most knowledgeable decisions.
As a Realtor, I'm not an attorney or a CPA or a contractor, but I work adjacent to them and need to be able to work well with people in those fields.
The home inspection is a critical step in a real estate transaction and a real estate agent should understand something about the "sticks and bricks" of how a house is built. Investing the time to learn how a house is built, having an idea of the bigger picture, and helping our clients understand and address anything of concern is something that adds tremendous value.
When I meet with a buyer and contractor at a house and there are questions about the roof or the foundation, I am very comfortable getting answers from the right experts and giving advice to my clients on how to move forward. Contractors and attorneys talk fast. I have them slow down and translate for my client.
Sometimes, that's all people need to connect the dots. Maybe their inspector or contractor gave them the 10 second version and what they really needed was the 60 second version. I specialize in helping people connect the dots. It's probably what I do best! Give me a call.
