Brought to you by Lake Oswego Jeweler Mary Wong, Trios Studio - LAKE OSWEGO JEWELRY INSIDER -

Mary Wong, Trios Studio - LAKE OSWEGO JEWELRY INSIDEREvery year, our jewelers from Trios Studio attend the Responsible Jewelry Conference in Chicago. It's a great way for us to continue to spread the word and educate people about responsibly-sourced jewelry. As the idea of responsible sourcing continues to become more widespread in the jewelry industry, it's easy to forget how far we've come. And there's still so much to do.

So what does it mean to buy jewelry that's responsibly sourced? Traditional methods of mining gemstones and precious metals have often resulted in negative impacts on the environment, exploitation of miners, deforestation and the use of dangerous chemicals. Responsible sourcing means purchasing products that are ethical to both people and the environment.

Responsible sourcing is also about giving consumers a choice, so they can buy jewelry they don't have to feel guilty about. At Trios Studio, this focus is not new for us. We have always sought to use Fair Trade Gems and recycled metals whenever possible and have made it our mission to be transparent in our supply chain and support education and health in mining communities.

We have lots of information about all aspects of this topic, and we always welcome questions about sourcing and origins of materials. We can also custom make or order things that are 100 percent ethically produced.

If you've been wanting to buy more responsibly-sourced jewelry and didn't know where to start, or if you're interested in learning more, stop by and see us!
