Jonathan Wisniewski, Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin (EVCOT) - EMERGENCY VETERINARY CLINIC INSIDERYou love your pets! And so do we. That's why here at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin, we're committed to being there for you and your furry family members throughout this global pandemic.

As the pandemic has evolved, curbside check-in has become the "new normal". We all are looking forward to the day when we can invite you back into our lobby and sit down together to discuss your pet's evaluation and plan. For now, we continue with check-in, doctor consultation and check-out over the phone to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

When you need to bring your pet in to see us, please give us a call so that we may gather your information over the phone. When you arrive, please call us to check in, and then meet us at the door so that we may take your pet for triage. We require that our employees and clients wear masks at all times. If you'd prefer your pet waits with you in the car, just let us know! We'd recommend letting us triage your pet, to obtain their vital signs, and then we can return them to you if requested. Otherwise, we'll keep them supervised, in a comfortable bed, while they wait for the doctor's examination. We ask that you please stay in our parking lot until you have talked to the veterinarian. If you must leave, please be prepared to return quickly, for example, if you need to grab a bite to eat or beverage while you wait.

Pets who are experiencing a life-threatening emergency will be moved to the front of the line and evaluated immediately by a veterinarian. We will contact you by phone, so please keep it available and turned on. If your pet is stable, they will be placed in the queue for a doctor's examination in the order they arrived.

Due to the unpredictable nature of our emergency caseload, we are not able to accurately predict wait times. We apologize in advance - the wait for a doctor's examination can vary widely. We assure you that despite the challenges of COVID-19, our staff is dedicated to providing ongoing emergency and urgent care to our patients, and kindness to our clients. If at any point you would prefer your pet be waiting with you, just let us know!

We will continue to review current CDC and Oregon Health Authority guidelines and are looking forward to having our clients return to the building as soon as it is safe to do so.
