Real estate trends after COVID-19
There's no doubt that COVID-19 has changed a lot about how we do business and live our lives. As cities are reopening and real estate traffic is picking back up, we are seeing many changes in what people are looking for in their home.
After being isolated in our homes for extended periods of time, one of the things we are seeing is people really thinking about how their homes are working for them. Before coronavirus, homes were trending smaller. Now everyone wants more space, more access to amenities without having to leave their own property. People want their own gyms, pools, views, access to water, larger lots, more indoor space and more flexible spaces.
While we are still taking advantage of virtual showings, especially for those who are unable to travel, we are also conducting in-person showings with masks. Now is a great time for sellers to take advantage of the market. Demand is high while rates and inventory have remained low.
The good news for buyers is you don't have to wait to start looking if your current home isn't working for you. The industry is strained right now by the volume of transactions. Movers are slow and lenders are bogged down, but with some patience and the expertise of a knowledgeable real estate agent you can find a home that better meets your needs.
