Getting ready for Medicare? Key Notes.
In order to have full Medicare you must apply for Medicare Part A and Part B. Medicare will determine your Medicare status and what your monthly premiums will be to Medicare when approved.
It is suggested you apply to Medicare 3 months ahead of your turning 65 if you wish for Medicare to start on your birthday month. There are penalties if you do not apply when you are required to do so. There are other rules for those still employed or wish to stay employed.
To help cover the coverage gaps does not pay for, you can choose a private Medicare Advantage plan or a Medicare Supplement Plan. They are not the same type of plan. It is very important you understand the differences.
