Women's Leadership Alliance sees first initiatives roll out
The Women's Leadership Alliance has announced the rollout of its first initiative. The Leadership Initiative is a pilot program which kicks off with a four-hour training at the Women's Symposium.
The Women's Leadership Alliance, Inc. was launched two years ago by Judith McGee, L.H.D., CFP, CLU, CEO of McGee Wealth Management, and a small group of other women financial planners, as a grass roots, advisor led, nonprofit effort to attract, develop and engage promising women leaders to grow and strengthen the financial advisory profession and better represent the clients they serve.
According to McGee, the purpose was to empower smart, passionate women who have a desire to become the leaders of tomorrow in the financial planning profession. The founding members envisioned embracing potential female financial planners with mentors who could help them further their careers and life missions. Today the pilot mentoring programs are underway and fundraising has exceeded the initial goals, passing its 100 donor mark and now has more than $650,000 in pledges and contributions. The alliance has also expanded its board to ten members. The board members are determined to not only change the conversation regarding the profession, but encourage others to keep the conversation growing.
"We believe we are in an essential profession; a helping one that makes a positive difference in so many lives," McGee said.
