Ovation Design Build to host free seminars

Sandy and John Hendricks, the owners of Ovation Design Build in Lake Oswego, are offering free seminars on how to save money on a kitchen remodel.

The seminars will explain the real costs of a designer kitchen remodel and how to budget a project and save money. Classes will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on April 14 and from 7-8:30 p.m. on April 18. Both seminars will be held at the Ovation Design Build showroom, 5833 Jean Road in Lake Oswego.

The April 14 seminar will also include a segment on solar energy options.

The Art of Makeup to hold open house

The Art of Makeup will host an open house and makeup demonstration from 6-8:30 p.m. on April 8 at the school, located at 11830 Kerr Parkway, Suite 211, in Portland.

Special FX Makeup Master Thomas Surprenaut will demonstrate FX makeup using brushes from his Thomas Surprenaut Creations product line. He has partnered with PPI Skin Illustrator to create two unique and exclusive alcohol palettes, and with Bdellium Tools to create two unique FX brush sets of his own design.

Women Who Mean Business will hold a Mother's Day Fashion Show for all ages from 5-8 p.m. on May 11 at the Oregon Golf Club, 25700 S.W. Petes Mountain Road in West Linn.
